Makeup Revolution Golden Bar Palette | Review and Look!
Hello everyone! So I've been really trying to get more blogs up, I'm just really slacking. My mom had off from work, so we went out and I wasn't really home. Then July Fourth and yeah. I don't really have many excuses.
One day last week, I needed to get out. I bribed my sister to come to ULTA with me because I had a gift card that has just been staring at me and asking to be used. My local ULTA has been getting a little makeover. Literally every time I go it looks different. They're finally getting some new brands, one of them being Makeup Revolution.
Now, I've heard great things about Makeup Revolution on YouTube and have always wanted to try it. I think they're mostly known for their Light and Shade palette. Along with some other dupes. When I got to their little section in ULTA, I stood there for such a long time not knowing that to get.
I finally decided on the Golden Bar Palette, which is GORGEOUS! I'm in love with this palette. The packaging is super cute, it looks like a chocolate bar that's melting. There's a really nice mirror on the inside and all of the shades have names. My only complaint is that the shade names are on a plastic sheet, not on the actual palette. There's also one of those little applicators, but I never ever use those. The shades are so buttery and creamy. They are also apply so nicely.

So the shades that gave me issues when I swatched them were Collection and Ribbon. Those are the first two shades and also the lightest. All of these swatches are all one swipe and with my finger.
When I used these to create a makeup look, I feel like the colors came out best when I used my finger.I feel like shimmery shades just work better without a brush.
The shades from top to bottom are Collection, Ribbon, Edible, Tablet, Wrapped, Wrapper, Foil, Golden, Bar, Box, Block, Gift, Limited, Cocoa, Beans, and Chocolatier.
Obviously, the day after I bought this I had to play with it! Whenever I'm about to play with a new palette, I always looks at the colors and try to plan a look in my head. This palette doesn't have any matte shades. I prefer to use mattes in my crease, I feel like their easier to blend out. So when I created a look with these, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. Those shades just worked perfectly with this palette!
Here is the look I created!
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette in Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Realgar and Red Ocher all in the crease and the lower lash line
- Makeup Revolution Golden Bar palette in Golden all over the lid and Collection as a highlight in the inner corner and brow bone
- ULTA Beauty Brown eyeliner in the waterline
- L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
- ULTA Beauty Voluptuous Volume Mascara
This look is super easy and simple It's a great warm look if you're into those kind of looks. All of these pictures are from my Instagram and if you're not following me there, you should! Go follow :)
