CIATE LONDON VELVET EYESHADOW PALETTE + SWATCHES

If you saw my January Boxycharm blog post, you may remember this palette. The Ciate London Velvet Eyeshadow palette was a new release in January's box. I haven't really tried a lot of Ciate London's products, so I'm always excited when I see them in my boxes.

Before I tell you my thoughts on the palette, I want to tell you a little about the Velvet palette. The palette retails for $30. There are 12 eyeshadows and has a mix of velvety mattes, hyper metallics, and soft shimmers. The palette contains pink, rose gold, and ember hues. It's vegan and gluten free.

Like in my Picante palette review, I tried the palette out for 5 days. Here is what I thought by the end of the week. I'm a sucker for packaging and love the packaging of the palette. Now on to the eyeshadows..So, I didn't love the palette. A good eyeshadow palette to me is 6 mattes and 6 shimmers. I need at least two transition shades (I'm high maintenance, I KNOW). You really need to pair it with another palette. BUT, the shadows are really pigmented and easy to use. Some of the shades did have fall out and kick back. For some reason I found this palette really uninspiring. I had the hardest time creating looks.

Would I recommend this palette? No, I wouldn't. It's not worth $30 in my opinion. If you're like me and need that good mix of shimmer and matte, then you probably won't like this. I just feel like that this palette is not practical at all.

What do you think about this palette? Would you buy it? Let's chat in the comments! I hope you enjoyed this post. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram
